June 24th

We hung out with Will and Kerri for the day.  Woo!

June 25th

 Red Reeds on Logs (2016)
For some reason we couldn't get a flight out today that was reasonable.  We went to the botanical garden, which had a Chihuly exhibit going on.  Exploring commenced!

 It's almost a squid.

 Big orange bowls!

Oyster Grey Seafoam Set (1981)  and various drawings

Oh!  I know this!  If you hit the middle bit with an arrow three times it'll defeat the boss.

First half of the Tree of Plant Life - Algae through Ginkos

 Part 2 - Flowering plants.

It is a large lovely garden.

Big yellow spike ball in front of the conservatory.

I was not intending to catch this expression, but it's great.

 A little hanging hibiscus flower.

 Yucca and....other plants.

 I like all the plants.

 Beeeeeeee!

 Oh right!  Spiky ball!

 Squiggles!

 Cones!

Into the greenhouse.

  Persian Pond and Fiori (2017)

They look like giant lotus leaves.

 Fun with reflections.

I think they look like white/blue flamingos.

 Dan in the gardens.

 This cool flower thing.

I feel like this is sticking its tongue out at me.

This tree might have a problem.  Apparently it's a type of cacao tree.

 White Belugas (2017)

I don't know if this is a flower or a root or what, but it has an interesting texture.
Like...having poison ivy.

 Neat little red lantern flowers.

Giant corn? Weird pinecone?  Dinosaur flower?

 Giant flower poof!

 Hand for scale.

 Macchia Forest (2017)

 Bowls on sticks.

The outside bits are neat too.

 Crazy star flower.

Outside into the gardens of the greenhouse.

 Ducks in the art!

It was a little damp while we were here, but it was a nice day in general.

The water reflections were neat.

 Art!

A few storm clouds up there.

 Neon 206 (2017)

I feel like this would look cooler at night.

 Garden!

Staghorn fern.  I think this might be related to that seeing eye blob in Big Trouble in Little China.

 White Tower with Fiori (2017)

 I like the spots.

 Some iridescent spikes.

 Tourists and the blue things.

 Blue things!

Blue things now with green spikes!

 And also purple spikes!

And whatever these blue things are!

These are more globular than the others.

 Dan for scale.

 Art imitating plants.

 Enhance.

 Enhance.

Back into the main room with the blue flamingos.

Ah!  A smaller tree of life for plants.

And back to this guy - Sol del Citron (2014)

 The entrance to the gardens.

 A few more little Chihulys.

 Cypress Green Chandelier (2005)

 Mineral Blue Chandelier (2016)

 Peridot Green Chandelier (2016)
I wonder why the first one was made so much earlier than the others.

Bye botanical garden!  It was fun.

We went back to our hotel in Newark and flew out the next morning.

This concludes our adventures for today.

Will & Kerri Get Hitched - Wedding

June 23rd

Will is very pensive this morning. (Dan took these photos.)

Josh is...glowing.

The guys had a game room to hang out in.

Dan and Josh are ready for the wedding.  Who knows about anyone else.

Here is Rory's glorious mane of hair.

Artsy limo shot.

I did not take many photos at the wedding.  I didn't want to be in the way.

Will is looking very stone-faced.

Anxiously awaiting the bridal couple to exit the church.  Hi Danielle!

Ron looking very dapper.

And the best photo from the formal photo shoot.

Wedding party!

They got to make a speech from a balcony!

Hi Danielle and Kevin!

I spent most of the evening having fun with J so Josh and Courtney could enjoy themselves.  Hence...not so many photos.

Cake cutting!  This wedding was amazing, and also full of food.  SOOOO much food.  There were like 5 desserts alone.  One of them was covered in gold leaf.  Also they had champagne jello shots, which were delicious and maybe the fanciest trashy thing ever.

The reception venue was this beautiful house and grounds at the Pleasantdale Chateau.

Photobooth!

Congratulations Will & Kerri!!! We wish you all the best.  The wedding was amazing!

This concludes our adventures for today.
