We're Back!!

 26-Aug-22

Like everything these days, we're back! Thankfully we're continuing adventures and not a reboot.

Quick recap of what wasn't blogged - We did two tours in DC and gained two children.

After a very stressful and frustrating several months, we are back in Italy. This time with two kids!

Anyway, I don't intend for this blog to be as detailed as before since the kids make it difficult to dedicate as much time to it.

Better pack the important things first.
Funny story, the bag KC is in had all our important documents and passports and things in it and we left it behind. We had to call my dad to rush it to the airport. Ooops!

Most of our luggage. We had 9 bags, a stroller, 3 carry-on bags, and Tungsten (our cat).

Max is not sure about this....
(Flight from DC to Newark, NJ)

Finally aboard our flight to Rome!
Dan's co-worker/boss/person met us at the airport in Rome which helped immensely.

Ahhh! That first cup of espresso!
(Don't worry, it's water. We all know KC doesn't need any more energy)

Okay, now to fight jetlag and admin paperwork on this side. Wish us luck!

NPS Graduation

March 30th
Today Dan, and some other people, are graduating today from the Naval Postgraduate School. Captions for today are by Dan.

All the students from Dan's specific degree program.

Waiting to line up.

Marching the amusingly short distance to the graduation hallway.

The graduation speaker was Robert L. Woods, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Manpower, and Reserves.

This shadow makes Dan look like he's missing a tooth.
Dan shakes hands with more people while holding empty diploma cases.

This is a picture of us.
If you've gotten this far in the blog without knowing that you're a weird person.

The flags in the nice garden area have been badly sun bleached.

Dan got an empty folder with a piece of paper saying he could expect a diploma to arrive in 10 - 12 weeks.

Here are some of the nice view from the main building on the NPS campus.

 Bye NPS!

After graduation we had a party as one does.  This involved the Change of Command ceremony of the Dans. I.E. passing of the title of Dan onto (previously) Other Dan.

April 1st

All the parents came out to celebrate Dan's graduation.

We took them driving down the Big Sur Coast and took lovely photos:

We had tried a few times to get down to Pfeiffer Beach, but it was busy and only limited traffic was allowed to go down. But we finally made it. Spoiler! Purple Sand!

Ta was having a good time at the beach.

We found a rock with a paw print in it.

There's a hole in this rock.

Beach art?

Lots of colors in this rock.

There's a hole in this rock too.

Dan is VERY good at skipping rocks.

Patterns in sand and water.

Ice plant.

We left the beach and head home to get dinner and pack up what't left of our belongings. The dads fly out in the morning and the moms, Ta, W, Dan and I hit the road.

This concludes our adventures for today.
