We got this cabinet from a used market. I love it.
Duncan is KC's horse, named after her grandmother's horse.
Several members of my extended family stopped by after their cruise.
They are our first guests!
I think we had most of the boxes unpacked...

I put up my hammock on our balcony.
We got a night out to go to the embassy newcomer's welcome event and also to have dinner with our friend's parents.
Woo! Trevi Fountain!

We crossed the Tiber River (Tevere in Italian).
We went to Cecilia Santa Cucina.
We got the tasting menu. It included these gold topped pasta carbonara beignets.
This wine was very nice.

On Saturday we went to a birthday party for Archie who turned one year old.
We discovered Max's hair likes to harbor bubbles.
It was a really nice party. They had a lady who led songs and games with the kids.
After the party we drove Dan out to Civitavecchia and dropped him off at the Cavour, an Italian aircraft carrier. He's going on a two week deployment with the Italian Navy. I'll make him do a post about it after this one.

KC wanted to read to Max.
We're working on getting the girls into a local Italian daycare and preschool. They have an easing in period where they go for an hour the first day, and then a little longer the second day, and so on and so forth. It's probably great really, especially for kids who haven't been away from home, but I just want them to take my kids. I need a break.
Today, KC was staying longer than Max, but not long enough to make it worth going home and coming back. So Max and I went to explore a nearby park while we wait for KC.
I think KC also likes the hammock.

KC loves her football dress, which she has to wear to play football.
One plays football by throwing a jellyfish stuffy, running after it, and falling down.
She also wanted to show off her Halloween themed tattoos.

I am both impressed and slightly horrified at the selection of pureed proteins one can buy at the Italian grocery store. (There were more fish options, but they didn't fit in the photo.)
Right next to the grocery store are sheep!

I saw this while driving around today.
The light up balcony bow thing is super cute, except IT'S OCTOBER. (I realize Italy doesn't really have Halloween and definitely doesn't have Thanksgiving to help keep Christmas at bay.)
